Weekly Highlights m9w1y17

Greetings and Happy Friday!! I know its been two months since I last posted.  So much going on this summer and I just didn’t have it in me to blog about it.  I kinda gave up on the blog once I realized I wasn’t getting notified for any of the comments people were leaving for me here.  Hopefully that is back up and working again!! It shouldn’t matter to me whther people read this blog or not, however it is a lot more satisfying to blog when you know someone out there might read it and care. LOL. With all that being said, In a world that seems so dang negative all the time It is important for me to continue to reflect on the good things that happen every week.

So without further ado, here is my list of highlights from the week of Sept 1-Sept 7, 2017:

Reflecting on the happy moments in my life

Summer is flying by and I haven’t even started my summer break yet!! One week to go of summer school! Woot Woot! This week has been a tough one in other ways.  As ,uch as I love reflecting on the good stuff, I feel that is it awfully one-sided of me to only mention the good stuff that happens in my life.  Then again, do I really want to remember the negative things that happen to me when I look back at this blog someday? Just a thought.

Highlights from the week of June 30-July 6, 2017:

  1. Being part of a team effort that allowed our team lead to earn a promotion of Emerald Ambassador with Plexus!! Jessica earned herself a brand new Lexus and an annual trip to Hawaii!
  2. Lunch at D-Spot for first time in many months

More Fun in Vegas at Plexus Convention!

More Fun in Vegas at Plexus Convention!

It already feels like it was ages ago that I was in Vegas with my bestie Bradie and some other ladies from our local Drink Pink Plexus team. Recap of Day 1 here

Wednesday was a full day of general session for Ambassadors.  We learned more aboutVitalBiome, the new probiotic that was launched the previous day, as well as learned we have improved our already-the-best-in-the-world multivitamin, XFactor Plus.  Clinically proven to reduce HOT FLASHES!! I will have to blog more about these products specifically but here is an overview:

The announcement that I was MOST EXCITED about??? Plexus will be launching a new state-of-the-art website very soon!!!! I have said for quite some time now that their website is the biggest downfall.  We got a sneak peek at the new platform and it is so slick and easy to use!! A HUGE improvement.  I cannot wait until it launches!! Unfortunately we did not get a definitive date. Nonetheless, I am super excited.

Can you imagine the energy from a crowd of 12,000 Ambassadors? It was incredible!

There were several great speakers throughout the Convention and our MC, Victor Antonio, was great. I wish I would have live-blogged the announcements ๐Ÿ™

Recognition of our top Ambassadors.  Ranks go: Ambassador<Senior Ambassador< Silver <Gold < Sr Gold < Ruby < Sr Ruby < Emerald < Sapphire < Diamond. (I am Silver, working toward Gold). Once you reach Emerald, Plexus buys you a Lexus and sends you to Hawaii.  Not to mention profit-sharing.

Next comes Sapphire

Then the Diamonds!!! These Ambassadors make SERIOUS MONEY.  Once you hit Diamond Plexus allows you to re-enter under yourself.  Huge earning potential.  Plexus currently has

Playing with some props….. we LOVE our Pink Drink!!

We are Diamond Ambassador Wannabes.  It might take us a few more years but we are determined!
We also had to check out the Plexus store.  They had a ton of cool stuff but all I got was a Tshirt

Later that night, our team got together for Happy Hour.  The cute blond who is front-and-center is Emily Finnell, our Diamond upline.  Emily is Jessica’s sponsor, who is Bradie’s sponsor, who is my sponsor.  All of Emily’s upline are Diamonds as well.  We have a very successful team.

After Happy Hour, Jessica hired a limo to take all 16 of us to dinner at Todd English’s Olives at the Bellagio. Very fancy dinner and Jessica took care of everything for us!!! Wow, so incredibly generous! Thank you, Jessica!! What a treat!

Outside Bellagio

After dinner and drinks at the club inside Bellagio, we went to old Vegas to see the Fremont Street Experience. Sooooo cool!!!

I had a lot of fun that night!

Special for Joining Plexus TODAY!!

Special for Joining Plexus TODAY!!

Plexus speci

I love a good deal, don’t you? That’s part of the reason why I joined Plexus as ambassador after first starting as a preferred customer… I loved the products and wanted them for the deepest discount. It was worth it to pay the $34.95 yearly fee because I saved more than that my very first month vs being a preferred customer. Joining also allows you to buy a welcome pack with your very first order. The welcome pack is a combo of products at a price even lower than what you’d pay wholesale every month. It’s a really great deal. Today is the last day you can join and get 10% off one of our welcome packs. Additionally, I am personally offering $15 cash-back if you order today. Who is ready to take advantage of this generous offer?!

My favorite combo is the Triplex (Slim, BioCleanse, ProBio5)

An example of the pricing break-down for one month of the Triplex:

  • Retail- $149.95/mo
  • Preferred Customer – $129.95/mo
  • Wholesale- $114.95/mo
  • Welcome pack (one-time only) -$99 ON SALE NOW for $89.10
    • In order to buy wholesale you will pay an annual membership fee of $34.95

You can download a PDF copy of our new Plexus Product Catalog or browse it interactively HERE

Below are all of the Welcome Packs offered. Top row is $99, bottom row is $199.  An additional 10% off through TODAY at 5pm CST!!

Gramps is Feeling Good!

Gramps is Feeling Good!

When you see me post about Plexus, do you have a preconceived idea of who uses the products?! Stop it right now! Here I am with This past weekend with my Gramps, who will be 92 this fall.

In the past five years he has suffered several strokes, survived bladder cancer, has had surgery to fix his teeth, and his sight is so bad from cataracts, etc that he is nearly blind. Despite all of this, he was telling me yesterday that he is feeling really good lately and is loving his Plexus Probio5 and vanilla p96 protein shakes that he drinks everyday. He doesn’t have much of an appetite and weighs maybe 110 lbs. these days; he looks like a walking skeleton. My gram said that his protein shakes mixed with berries and ice cream is pretty much the only thing he will consume anymore. I know he’s had his challenges and that being so incredibly old has to be tough, but I’m glad that Plexus is making him feel better ๐Ÿ˜‰ Love you, Gramps!

Gut Health- Sounds Gros but it is SO IMPORTANT!!

Gut Health- Sounds Gros but it is SO IMPORTANT!!

“Gut health”

I have to admit that the first hundred or so times I heard those words, they made me cringe. It just sounds gross, right?! Who’s with me?! I was very ignorant. After months (years?) of ignoring those words, I decided to do some research on what gut health really meant. Now I understand just how important having a healthy “Microbiome” really is. Plexus is all about gut health, because the gut and what is going on in there can either make you feel great, or make you feel bad. Wouldn’t you rather feel good? I’m not the only one who understands the importance. Don’t believe me? Read the words of some of the experts then ๐Ÿ˜‰ There is a plethora of info out there….

Boating at Sunset on White Bear Lake

Boating at Sunset on White Bear Lake

We took an impromptu ride on our friend Johnny’s boat last night. It was chilly out but the boys enjoyed getting to drive the boat! lol
Boating at Sunset on white bear lake
I love living in Minnesota and having lakes and water all around us.  We are lucky enough to be able to get out on the lake whenever we want.  Sunset is the best! So peaceful

Bretton’s dad also cut Bretton’s hair last night.  His first mohawk. Good thing hair grows fast! lol

Vegas with my Bestie for the Plexus ‘Believe’ Convention

Vegas with my Bestie for the Plexus ‘Believe’ Convention

Once again I’ve become too busy and preoccupied with other things to give a timely update on what I’ve been up to.  One thing that I most definitely need to blog about before time slips away from me again, is my trip to Vegas a couple fo weeks ago for the 2017 Plexus Believe Convention. WOW!!!! First of all, I had never left my boys for more than a night and didn’t think it would be possible to leave them for three full days.  They’re a handful and I didn’t want to add that responsibility onto their dad’s plate but he gave me the go-ahead to go. My plane ticket was booked just two weeks before I left.

I was so excited about this trip because I had never been to a big corporate convention like this before, and even more excited because after 37 years of friendship and sharing a dorm room together in college, my BFF Bradie and I had never been on a trip together.  Not even a weekend away anywhere.  Weird, right??!! LOL

We left early Tuesday morning and met several of our sideline teammates at the airport.  These are girls from our bigger local team (Drink Pink: Jess Radke Team)

The convention was at MGM so we went straight there from the airport.  Bradie and I checked into our room at 10am Vegas time and were told they would expedite our room and send us a text when our room was ready.  We left our luggage with the bellhop and then went to check in for Convention and got our Plexus backpacks full of goodies. Sweet!  I was very impressed at how full-out Plexus went with promoting and representing our brand throughout MGM.  I’m sure this is common for corporate conventions, but this was a first for me.

At this point it was lunchtime and we were starving!! We met Alia and Amy at Hecho en Vegas Mexican restaurant.  We shared nachos and mini chimichangas and I went all-out and had a margarita too

Bradie and I ended up waiting all afternoon for our room and it still was not ready before we had our first General Session that afternoon.  We had the bellhop bring our bags to a friend’s room so that we could have our stuff ready to go when our room became available.  We had two big parties to get ready for that night! Bradie won her place at both the Club 500 Reception and also Winner’s Dinner.  These were prizes that were given to Ambassadors who achieved certain requirements.  I personally wasn’t even close but Bradie worked her tail off to make it happen and she brought me as her date!

Here is Bradie with Tarl Robinson, CEO of Plexus Worldwide.  It was an honor to be in the presence of greatness!

The appetizers and free wine at the Club 500 reception was great.  We met a few other Ambassadors and were joined by our Drink Pink teammate Carie, who also won the honor.  The Winner’s Dinner immediately followed the Club 500 Reception so we walked over to the Grand Ballroom for the big event.  The food was standard banquet grub but the wine was flowing all night.  I actually didn’t drink much but still had a great time.

All of the Plexus Jewels were there, dressed to the nines.  I don’t know when I’ve ever been in a room with so many beautiful women.  Seriously!! After dinner the band came out and played while everyone danced and had a great time. One of the singers hired for the night was the lead singer of Kool and the Gang.  He did a bunch of their stuff and the other performers for the night did other great covers.  It was so much fun!

Four of our teammates from the Drink Pink team made Winner’s Dinner (Jessica, Bradie, Carie and Kristi) and each was able to bring a date (Lynne, Meg, me and Julie).  This photo had to be converted to B&W because the bright neon Plexus sign did not allow for nice lighting.  It sure looked cool in person though! lol

That wraps up Day 1!!

I have so much more to talk about but this post is getting quite long.  Will be posting about Day 2 & 3 soon!!

Books to Be Read for Erin’s Book Challenge 7.0

This will be my first “official” entry into Erin’s Book Challenge 7.0.  I found Challenge 6.0  three weeks before it ended, so I wasn’t able to intentionally pick my books ahead of time, rather I used the books I had read during the challenge period and tried to make them fit into the categories that were given.  This time the categories were posted June 1st and the Challenge starts July 1st.  I looked through my “To Be Read” list on Goodreads and found books that fit into each category. A Quick Check-In…

A Quick Check-In…

You ever have any of those weeks that are so busy they have you head spinning and time passes by in a blur? Welcome to my life.  LOL. I take too much on, work too hard, and don’t relax often enough.   I can never keep up with all the chores and my house is a disaster zone pretty much all the time.  Between Dash, Bash and the dog, everything I do is quickly undone.  I often throw in the towel and don’t think twice about it.  I put my blinders on, a coping strategy I’ve come up with to avoid going bat-shit crazy.  Raising these boys is the hardest thing I’ve ever taken on and most of the time I’m probably not doing the best job.

As much as I love blogging, I find it nearly impossible to keep up with my own life let alone blog about it.  I am forever thankful for this outlet and it being here when I need it ๐Ÿ˜‰

That’s all I’ve got for now. Hope everyone is well!

Color Me Happy?

Color Me Happy?

How many ladies out there love to get a fresh cut and color?? I know I do. It only happens 2-3x/year so it better be pretty special. LOL.

I’ve always had long hair and I am open to many different coloring options. I’ve had many many colors over the years. My recent obsession…. balayange. I found these pics to take to my stylist as an idea of what i wanted…..

She went darker on top and lighter on the bottom, with a few red foils underneath. She told me she’d give me WOW Factor. Unfottunately the color just doesn’t stand out. It doesn’t look like the photos above ๐Ÿ™

I feel bad because she is a friend of mine but I might need to go elsewhere to really get what I want. Is that terrible? What do you think?

May Lately

May Lately

Lately I’ve been:

We’ve been eating a lot of fish and rice lately.  Mostly salmon or tilapia.  I have found really good fresh (never frozen) fish at Walmart.  Super easy to season it a little, wrap it in foil and cook on top rack of our grill.  This keeps the heat and fish smell outside ๐Ÿ˜‰ With the salmon I make a dipping/topping sauce with soy, green onion, fresh garlic and ginger.

I’m slowly trying to weed carbs out.  Just making better choices overall.  I still love and crave spicy things ๐Ÿ˜‰

The NEW and Improved Plexus Slim.  This stuff tastes so good! I feel better than ever and look forward to the lbs melting off me

New and improved plexus slim aka pink drink

The Shoemaker’s Wife.  It’s a really long book and it is taking me a long time to read because I can currently only access it on my laptop.  Very good so far and I need to see it through until the end! I’m currently 62% finished.

I finished Thirteen Reasons Why last week.  Whoa.  See my comparison of book vs series.  This week I’ve been watching the first half of the final season of Pretty Little Liars. I typically watch this show one season at a time, every summer.  It’s entertaining in small doses.

Listening to:

Lionel Richie’s oldtime hits.  I got tickets for Mother’s Day to see him this June.  Looking forward to it!! I also just started listening to my first Podcast…. S-Town.  I’ve heard it’s really good and seems interesting so far.  I will be listening on my way to/from work.

  • Excited and a little Guilty about an upcoming trip
  • Very mad about politics and an injustice at work
  • Hot because our furnace/AC has gone out
